It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden and unexpected death of Celestina “Phyllis” (Tibbo) Lawrence. She passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16th, 2021 at Bluewater Health with her loving family by her side. Mom was born in Frenchman's Cove, Newfoundland on October 26th, 1938 and came to Sarnia as a young teenager where she met the love of her life Peter Lawrence. They had 52 years of a loving marriage until Peter’s death in 2009. She was the loving mother of Bonnie Bryce (Scot) and David Lawrence (Cheryl), dear grandmother of J.P., Eric, Corey, Chas, Cassandra and Dustin, great-grandmother of Hailey, Lukas, Noah and Evan. She also leaves behind her sister of Anne Clarke of Newfoundland and her in laws Nancy Zenick , Al and Cindy Lawrence and Bertha Lawrence, special nieces Joanne McDowell (Rick), Doris Kelly (Clem) and special nephew Greg Clarke (Lauren). Several other nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her loving daughter Christine Ann Lawrence (2010), her parents Susan and Jacob Tibbo, her infant sisters Elsie-Marie and Ualeigh, her brothers Herb, Harold, Merril, William and Sam, her mother and father in law Marjorie and Francis Lawrence, her in laws Donna and Nick Carter, Neil and Joanne Lawrence, Jack and Joan Lawrence, James Lawrence, Linda and Keith Irwin and Russell Zenick. Funeral services will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9) on Friday, August, 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm. For those who are unable to attend Phyllis’s funeral, it will be live streamed. Family and friends can log on 15 minutes prior to service through her on line obituary at www.djrobb.on.ca Visitation for family and friends begins at 12:00 pm until the time of services. Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Charitable donations made in her memory to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Sarnia Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Due to the current Covid-19 crisis and the restrictions placed on funeral homes masks, social distancing and contact tracing will be required by those attending at the funeral home.
