Carol Sue Young

YOUNG, Carol - Peacefully, surrounded by her family at Bluewater Heath on Sunday, May 28th, 2023, Carol (Short) Young, passed in her 85th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Lorne Young (2006) of Sarnia, the loved mother and mother-in-law of Paul and Jane Stewardson and the cherished ‘Grams’ of Stephanie (Chris), Leslie (John), April, and great-grams of Alex, Emma, Ava, and Ella. She will be dearly missed by extended families Eric (Carla), Chase, Sonya & Nadine; Aaron (Lauren) & Meadoe; and Je’na & Max. She will be forever resting with her love of her life, Lorne, at Lakeview Cemetery in Sarnia. 
Carol was proud to spend many years of her career passionately working as a support staff with Community Living Sarnia/Lambton and devoted her life volunteering with Big Sisters of Sarnia Lambton, bringing the late Sherry Rodgers (2022) and Heather (Stewart) Gale into her family. She loved her yearly kid-free summer vacations at Lex on the Lake Lodges – bringing the Canadian charm and making lifelong friendships. Her unique ability to bring people together and connect with her caring and giving nature always made an impact on those who had the fortune of knowing her.   
Carol will never be forgotten in the hearts of her extremely close circle of friends and the beaten path between neighbors Marilyn and Lee Williams will always bring fond memories of fun, laughter, tears, celebrations and deep-rooted friendship. The family gives special thanks to the Williams family, and all those who visited, shopped, listened, and provided company to Carol for so many years.  
Her caring, fun-loving spirit always brought the life to the party. She was her happiest when spending time with her family and friends, on her porch with a glass of wine in hand. She will be deeply missed by so many. A celebration of Carols life will be held at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club, 500 Errol Rd W in Sarnia on Monday, June 12th, 2023 from 1-4pm. Guests are asked to dress to the spirit of Carol (red lipstick is encouraged), and bring stories and laughter.  Carol has requested any memorial donations be provided to the St. Joseph Hospice of Sarnia through http://www.stjosephshospice.ca
