Bob Sokol

At St. Joseph's Hospice, Sarnia, on Thursday, February 26th, 2015, ROBERT (BOB) SOKOL, age 85 of Point Edward peacefully passed away. He was the loving husband for 64 years of Geraldine (Baker) Sokol and dear father of Dianne Schieman (Dave), Chris Payne (Murray), Janet Weiss, Judy Sokol, Teresa Sokol and Rob Sokol (Nikki), grandfather of Adam (Dawn), Taylor, Stephanie, Brad, Jennifer and Dan and great-grandfather of Carter and Claire. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his grandson Ryan, sisters, Albina McEllistrum, Irene Waring and his brother Andy Sokol. Bob was a partner of Sokol & Murray Sporting Goods. He owned and operated Bolger Lodge for many, many years and had worked in Real Estate the last several years. He had great wit and was a magnificent story teller, avid sportsman, fisherman and hunter with a wonderful sense of humour. Funeral services will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday, March 1st between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
