D. W. RANKIN - It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Rankin announces he lost his battle against cancer on Monday, January 9. He leaves behind his wife and soul mate Lee, his children Ronda (Peter Sametz) and Bob (Stephanie) as well as his step-children Kelly Dahlin (Blane) and Clint Houlbrook (Marion). Grandpa Bill was legendary for making a mean é¢a‚A"Shirley Templeé¢a‚ and shared many é¢a‚A"cheersé¢a‚ with his grandchildren Conor (Sherryn), Kaylea (Eric), Keegan (Katie), Derek, Daniel, Danica, Miranda, Michael, Ethan and Tenaya. He loved his great granddaughters Addison and Alyse. He will be missed by his brothers Ross and Alan (Leslie) and their families. He will be remembered fondly by his extended family of in-laws and his special Godchildren Corey and Carley Popp. Bill was predeceased by his parents Bill and Annie and his son Bill Jr. After doing his apprenticeship at Sarnia Bridge and Coles & Jeffery, Bill struck out on his own and started DW Rankin Ltd. He was joined in that endeavor by his brother Ross.
