It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom/gramma/great gramma (GG) on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. 

 om spent her lifetime encircling her husband and family. She had a creative side as she taught all her girls to sew at a young age. She enjoyed knitting and quilting, cooking and baking and many other crafts that brought her joy. She played guitar and even sang with a tea-pot band. Mom spent time always telling us about where she grew up in ‘Bluewater’ and told us many stories of her growing up years. She married quite young and learned about life as she grew up along with us kids. She was a great mom, and we loved her.

 Missing her already are her children Deborah (Jake) Bydeley, Lori (Craig) Gardiner and Linda (Ryan) Slager; grandchildren Jeff (Laura), Jamie, Crystal (Ryan), Becky, Joe (Christie), Megan (Steve), Christopher, Samuel (Ashlyn), Virginia & Jack (Lisa). Mom was also proud to boast of her 18 great grandchildren. She was pre deceased by her husband Jack, and 3 granddaughters. 

A funeral service will be held at D.J. Robb Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia, ON., N7T 5W9 on Thursday, January 9 at 11:00 am, with interment at the Wyoming Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be expressed through donations to Bluewater Health Cancer Clinic through https://www.bwhf.ca/donate 

 Our thanks go to the nurses and staff on the 5th floor Palliative unit at Bluewater Health Sarnia for their kind and compassionate care of mom; truly they are angels of mercy. Also, thanks to Dr. Lilly and the palliative team for their dedication to deal with pain management of this terrible disease. Thank you to the many friends who prayed for us and supported us along mom’s journey; we are grateful for you. Finally, thank you to D.J. Robb Funeral Home for their services.
