Monaghan, Bernadette May (O’Keefe) - At Marshall Gowland Manor Nursing Home in Sarnia, on Thanksgiving Day October 9th, 2017 Bernadette Monaghan age 84, passed away, peacefully, and in the caring hands of the wonderful staff at “the Manor.”
Mom was the wife of the late Donald James Monaghan (1995) and she was predeceased by grandson Brian Scott Monaghan (2012), and son Bryce Patrick Donald Monaghan (2016). Bern is survived by two sons, Dennis (Dee) and Cook (Mary), her grandchildren Lindsay (James), Donald, Ellis, and Evelyn, and two great-grandchildren Madison and Arthur.
Thank you very much, to the many staff members at Lambton Meadowview Villa where mom first resided in 2008 and to the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor where mom resided from 2009. We would be remiss if we did not, on mom’s behalf, thank specifically, the staff on “Poppy” during the bedside vigil from October 5th-9th, 2017. Those people could not have done more for mom or those of us who stayed with mom.
A heartfelt “thank-you” to Cousins Muggs, Jackie, Dela and neighbour Bonnie for their support, their time, and their every effort and thank you, Mary, for everything; and thank you Evelyn for carrying on a tradition of strong women within this family.
As she wished, mom will be cremated, however, friends and family can visit, share, and laugh, upstairs at the Royal Canadian Legion, Sarnia Branch 62, 286 Front Street north on October 21, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
