Barbara Jean Hopkins

The family of Barbara Hopkins is saddened to announce the passing of our wonderful Mother and Nana at the age of 82 on Tuesday November 1, 2022 after her long and courageous battle with dementia. Thank you for the care and compassion of the nurses and PSWs at Afton Park Place. 

Barbara was a dedicated and loving Mother and Nana, she was an avid bowler and loved to play bingo, she enjoyed dancing, spending time with her family and an ice cold beer. 

She will be forever missed by her children Robert Hopkins (Linda), Cathy Banks (Mike), Beth Cook(Steve McLean), Terrie-lynn Quaid(Jimmy), Rachel Hopkins and her nephew Michael Thompson (Jenn). Barbara leaves behind 8 grandchildren; Kristopher Hopkins(Caitlin), Tyler Banks, Kevin Banks(Sarah), Carly Cook, Shawna Quaid(Andrew), Mitchell Quaid, Steven Williams (Ashlyn), and Jami Lajoie (Dylan) plus her 9 great grandchildren.  Also survived by her brother-in-law David Hopkins and sister-in-law Rita Marshall. 

She is predeceased by her mother and father Dorothy and Garfield Thompson, her brother Jack Thompson, husband John Hopkins and her cherished grandson Cody Cook. 

Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia) on Wednesday November 9^th at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
