Arthur William Green

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving spouse, father and grandfather, ARTHUR WILLIAM GREEN, surrounded by his loving family and best friend “Sam” at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Saturday September 26, 2015 at the age of 88.  Art will be forever loved, remembered and cherished by his loving partner of 41 years Carol Prince.  Cherished father of Sharon (John) Lewis (Corunna), Jeannie (Lee) Callister (Windsor), Jimmy (Stephanie) Green (Sarnia), Pamela (Eamonn) Devine (Sarnia) and Angela (Jeff) Norland (Sarnia).  He was the devoted grandfather of Susan, David, Sheri, Paul, Mike, Lori, Sarah, Jennifer, James, Jeremy, Amberlynn, Nicholas, Christina and Ashley and 19 great-grandchildren and will be remembered by many brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews.   He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Hilda Green, wife Betty Green, daughter Patty Graham, brothers Frank, Robert, John, Wilf, Herb and sister Gladys.  Art was a lifelong resident of Sarnia and Point Edward.  He was a member of the Point Edward Ex-Servicemen’s Club, Sarnia Golf and Curling Club, Sarnia Traffic Club and Past Board member of the Chippewa Industrial Development.  He sailed as a young man in the Merchant Marine Navy. He worked for Seaway Forwarding Agency at the Sarnia Gov’t Dock for 27 years before starting Harbour Warehousing Company Limited in 1974 which he still operated.  He lived life to the fullest and enjoying boating, golfing, travelling and wintering in Florida.  Art will be truly missed by all. Resting at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION CENTRE where services will be held on Saturday October 3rd at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.  Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice or the charity of your choice (cheques only).
