Alma Leckie

ALMA WINIFRED LECKIE, (Elnor) 1920-2009, passed peacefully Good Friday evening, April 9th. It is with sadness and celebration; we announce her promotion to glory. Alma was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Edmond Leckie, her parents Agnes and Daniel Elnor, and her siblings Harold Elnor (Kay), Olive McLeod (Joe), Isabel Van Hoogenhuize (George). Alma is survived by her son Wayne Leckie (Susan Irwin), grandchildren Todd Leckie (Lisa Koyle), Tracy Leckie (David Thoms), Lisa Leckie, and John Sheppard (Shelley Carr). She is also survived by a special niece Agnes Matthias (Mel) and many nieces and nephews. Alma was a long time Lambton College School of Nursing House Mother. She was a member of Paterson Memorial Church, and a long time member of the Sarnia Yacht Club. She enjoyed her participation in the War Amps of Canada, the Sarnia Lungs for Life, and the Sarnia VIP. A private family interment has been arranged. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held from the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday April 15, 2009 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donation to her favorite charity, the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated (cheques only please).
