It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend, Allen James Moyer, age 64, on Monday, January 9, 2012. After a long and courageous battle with leukemia, Al passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side. He will be greatly missed. He is the loving father of Alister (Tammy) Moyer, Elizabeth (Jerry) Harrison, Adam (Roxanne) Moyer, Joshua (Sara) Moyer, Aaron Moyer, Nicholas Moyer and Riley Loxton. Allen was the proud grandfather to Ashley (Lukas), Tanner, Conner, Cadence, Raegan, Emma and Cohen and great-grandfather to Liam. He is the much loved brother of Gary Moyer, Carol (Garry) Hugli, Donna (Don) Roberts, Jack (Kim) Moyer, brother-in-law Tim Glover and close friend of Michele Loxton. He is predeceased by his son Aaron Jesse, his parents Eva and Glen and his sister Sharon Glover. His absence will also be felt deeply by his many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a great number of special friends. During these past few months, Allen enjoyed the frequent visits from family and friends, sharing memories. As a lifelong resident of Sarnia, Allen was known by many for his generous heart and desire to help others. He was famous for his red-hair, the love he showed his children, his interest in fine cars and music, especially that of Elvis. At Al's request, cremation has taken place. A funeral service for family and friends to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 12:00 pm at New Horizons Community Church (383 Russell St. N, corner of Maxwell) with a luncheon to follow. Interment will take place at 3:00 pm at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be expressed through donations to New Horizons Community Church or the charity of your choice. While his absence will truly be felt here on Earth, we are certain he is making himself known in the Heavens as he takes his place in Elvis' band!
