Allan Thomas Stewart

Allan Thomas Stewart - Loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and team-mate. With his loving family by his side, Allan (Al) Stewart passed peacefully on Friday, October 26th, 2018.  Beloved husband for 51 years to the late Lillian Elsie.  Loving father to his daughters Sherry Millar (Brian) and Paula Corner (James), grandfather to Jessica (Neil), Allison (Josh), Andrew (Vanessa) and Daniel (Samantha), great-grandfather (GG) to Hazel, Maeve, Silvia Lillian and Brayden, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Pre-deceased by parents Robert Stewart and May (Molitor) and older brother James Stewart. Allan was a life-long Sarnia resident, born January 15, 1932.   After a 35-year career with Esso Chemical, he enjoyed a very active retirement full of bowling, golf and hockey, which he continued to play until just last week.  He was a proud family man and enjoyed spending time with family members and close friends.  He was a long-time Sarnia Sting fan, an animal and nature lover, an avid gardener and a tough player on the ice.  Known to those around him as impressively strong for his age, a fair and proud man with a big heart.  Known to his great-grandchildren, as a gentle, quiet, caring and generous playmate.  He holds a special place in the hearts of many and will be deeply missed. A private family funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 30th.  A “Celebration of Life” will follow; open to all who wish to honor Allan at the Sarnia Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62, (286 Front Street N. Sarnia, ON, N7T 5S7), from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.  Words of tribute will take place at 3pm.As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Sarnia Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.
