ALICE “LYN” EMILYN (CURRAN) PACKER
1935-2020
Peacefully with family by her side Alice departed this life on September 21, 2020, in her 86th year. Alice was the beloved wife of the late Lloyd Packer, (1981). Dearly loved mother of Pat (Kathy), Becky (Roger), Dan (Tracie) and Paul and cherished grandmother of Vicky, David (Olivia), Emily (Kyle) and Jake (Amber). Her great-grandchildren Hallie, Leilah, and Iyla were sources of great joy to Alice. Alice was the older sister to Michael and predeceased by her brothers Johnny, Charles, and sisters Isabel, Patricia, Katherine. Alice was known as “Aunt Lyn” or “Lyn” to her many nieces and nephews and cousins whom she loved.
Alice received warm, compassionate, excellent, care at Trillium Villa this past year. She was supported by a staff of consummate professionals under the leadership of Dr. Lilly and Dr. O’Mahney. We are forever grateful for their care and nurturing of mom throughout the long pandemic lockdown this spring.
Alice made many friends at Hoskins Co-Op apartments where she lived for over 20 years. Over these years Alice assisted with membership and newsletter positions at Hoskins.
Alice was a Tigers baseball fan and brought home a caught ball from a Jays/Tigers game she attended with her sons in Toronto. This was a day she laughed over so many times.
Alice will be remembered for her feisty Irish wit, and her love of Irish music belted out with great fun at family get togethers over the generations.
A private family service and graveside interment is planned for Thursday September 24, 2020, at Lakeview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Salvation Army or the Inn of the Good Shepherd.
