Albert Flavell

August 22, 1915 — March 31, 2009

FLAVELL, Albert John, P. Eng - 邝Died peacefully on March 31st, 2009 at the age of 93. Predeceased in 2006 by Florence Lillian (Pippard), his loving wife of 64 years. Loving and beloved father of Wendy, Betty and Joan. Also survived by Joan's husband Dennis Nault and grandchildren Andrew and Sarah, Alison and Ken, Matthew and great grandchildren Lucas, Emily and Owen; Betty's husband Bill Bryce and grandchildren Kathryn and Matthew; cousin Nellie Palmer; sister-in-law Phoebe Pippard; nieces and nephews. Albert was the only child of Beatrice and Albert, born in Birmingham England, 40 year employee of Imperial Oil Ltd., served in the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps in World War II, inventor of Patent US 3,108,186 - Method of Determining the Wall Thickness of Hollow Bodies 1963, Life Member of the Canadian Institute of Management, Past Master Tuscan Lodge, and member of several other Masonic Orders, member of St. John's Anglican Church. His family greatly appreciates the generous care and support of friends and the staff of Sumac Lodge. Graveside Burial for Florence and Albert at Lakeview Cemetery on Wednesday, April 8 at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow at St. John's Anglican Church Parish Hall, 332 Devine Street from 2 - 4 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to St. John's A.C.W. or Sarnia Humane Society. Albert was an enthusiastic music lover, bibliophile, computer aficionado and wordsmith. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through djrobbfh@ebtech.net Arrangements entrusted to the D.J.
